The Talk: Personal Branding
The process whereby people and their career are marked as brand leading to an indelible impression that isuniquely distinguishable is known as personal branding. It is the asset that pertains to a particular individual which is not limited to the appearance and knowledge of the person.
Personal branding is basically the way you market yourself to the world. Your personal brain is what people think of you. In some ways, it is outside your control, but you obviously have some influence over it.
Here is how to build your personal brand:
- Build your Identity: this answers the question of “how do you want to be perceived?”. To answer this question, create a strong brand, with clarity about who you are and not.
- Build a reputation and value proposition: define what makes you different, special and memorable. Make sure your absence is felt positively
- Communicate your personal brand: Your personal appearance, social media, actions, and words should project who you are. Create the first impression that is appealing.
- Dress for success: Avoid being overly trendy or sexy. Dress for the job you want, not the one you have
- Brand yourself as a professional: Establish yourself as a professional in your field. It is a path to credibility. Let people associate you with quality and effective work. Build a Compelling Resume
- Build personal branding through community and public relation: A major community contribution can lead to significant community awareness of who you are.
- Good conversation: Reflect some of your knowledge in your conversation, but don’t be pedantic, No one like a “know-it-all”. Be a good listener, Show genie interest in others.
- Public Speaking: Your ability to convey your thought with enthusiasm, confidence and right projection of voice, is crucial to your professional brand.
- Distinguish Yourself. Trademark your personal brand
The concept suggests that success comes from self-packaging. We are the CEO of our own companies: Me Inc. To be at the peak today, our most important job is to be head marketer for the brand called You.
Excitement from learning.
